Another banger. I have to say, Magnus Chase has my favorite cast of characters out of any Riordan series, hands-down. They are all incredible. It's gonna hinge on the last book, but it may very well surpass the original series for me. I'm having a great time so far, hardcore recommend

Preface though: I agree that the Norse gods are portrayed badly. Like awfully. It's really bad. But for me, it's negligible (other than the fact that Thor pisses me off and is just utterly irredeemable - just a pure comic relief character). I don't know enough about Norse mythology to be truly bothered. And I feel like Loki's character sort of makes up for it. But if that sounds like a deal-breaker, it probably is.

I felt like the pacing of this one was a little funky, but I still enjoyed it! The relationship development was nice to see between the characters, especially between Samirah, Magnus, and Alex. The plot does seem to follow the same pattern as Riordan’s other books, but that’s okay — I kinda like the predictability, it’s comfortable.
