This is now my third book by Taylor Jenkins Reid and she’s quickly becoming a favourite author.

I don’t know why it has taken me so long to pick this one up, but I am so glad I finally did.

This book is a tour de force of sex, drugs and rock and roll.   I quickly forgot while reading this book that this band is fictional.  I even found myself running to google, only to remember this band wasn’t actually real.   It was 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙏 good.

The book is written entirely in an interview format.
TJR really has a way of sucking you into the story.  You really feel the struggles in writing and recording the album, the rise and fall of the band, the ups and downs of each of the band members, which really makes the interview style narrative work.

Every character is beautiful and flawed and you really feel for every single one.   And the female characters were all pretty bad ass!!

The music and songs are incredible, TJR actually wrote an entire album and included them in the back of the book.

I couldn’t help but get 𝘼𝙡𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙁𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙨 vibes when reading this one, or think of the comparisons to 𝙁𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙈𝙖𝙘.
I am very excited to hear this is coming to the small screen in a mini series on Amazon Prime!!

I rotated between print and audio for this one and this was a stand out on audio. Every character in the book had a different narrator and it was perfect!   Absolute audio perfection!!

Taylor Jenkins Reid has absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one and has created a book and characters that feel so real it’s hard to believe this is a work of fiction.

⚠️  Drug abuse.  Alcoholism.  Addiction. Abortion.  Infidelity.

I enjoyed this ride down memory lane with Daisy Jones and the Six! This book is beautifully written with the different point of views. I loved the way the author took us on the emotional ride of a music group. It felt like I was watching an interview with a popular group and they were recollecting on their rise to fame. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I hope the miniseries is as good as the book!

I never thought a book could make me feel this way. I've never read a book and cried not just at it's sad twists and turns but also how beautifully put together the story and everything was. it made me look at relationships, people, our thoughts and opinions about others and ourselves, in a fresh and much more open-minded way than what I thought I was already capable of.

also thank you TJR for gifting us with one of the most incredible characters to ever exist, Camila. 👑🤍

I was so dissapointed with this book and don't really understand the hype that seemed to surround this book when it came out. Maybe it just wasn't meant for me.
