It is difficult to review a book that is so full of Biblical truths in terms of stars. Holier Than Thou is faithful to the words of the Bible and Jackie Hill Perry plainly lays out the facts of what it means that God is holy. Although it was filled will food for the soul and spiritual goodness, I am torn on how it read as a book. That is mostly personal preference, but it seemed choppy and disorganized. Jackie Hill Perry diligently cites her sources throughout the book and one of her main sources is A.W. Tozer's The Knowledge of the Holy. If you are seeking a book to analyze God as a holy God, I would say go straight to Tozer's fantastic writing on the topic.
Overall: A well-researched and informative book about the holiness of God. 3.5 stars

This book doesn't only define the holiness of God it also talks about the Lord's other attributes in light of His holiness and how they're all connected.
A holy God is a just God.
A holy God is a loving God.
A holy God is a kind God.

i love reading books about the Holiness of God, and i especially love when they point you to Scripture. That is our clearest depiction of the Holiness of God, and it is necessary for us to read.

Overall loved the topic and has transformed my thinking on a few aspects. However, a good chunk of this book was really had to get through , mainly it was the writing style. Last chapter makes up for quite a bit.

The theology is sound but this book was difficult to read. There were lots of incomplete sentences that just didn’t flow well. I usually prefer the physical book, but I wonder if the audio would have been easier to understand.

I'm sure it's lovely, but I had trouble following the prose any time I sat down to read this. I'm not sure if it's the unique font, or if it was just difficult to get into. There were good bits when I could understand what was being said though.

Jackie Hill Perry writes poetry…that’s truly what this book is in its essence. Poetry. Poetry that demonstrates the perfect other-ness of God our Father. Yahweh. King of Kings. His perfect holiness is described in a way that I have never had it communicated to me. And then, in her perfect way, Perry convicts you of idol worship that you don’t even realize was happening…and shows you all the reasons that the Lord is better. This book is phenomenal.
