Seems sacrilegious to give John Owen only 3 stars, but here I go. I picked this book as part of a focused reading on the Trinity in 2020. While this book does cover the Trinity the accent is on the first words of the title-Communion with...
The editors do a nice introduction and explain their contribution-helping to translate the English of the 1650s to the 2000s. Despite this help the thought processes are clearly difficult.
Example-this is the first sentence of the second to last chapter of the book-one sentence mind you:

As in the account given of the actings of the Holy Ghost in us, we manifested first the general adjuncts of his actings, or the manner thereof; so now, in the description of the returns of our souls to him, I shall, in the first place, propose the general actings of faith in reference to this work of the Holy Ghost, and then descend into particulars.

Its slow going anyway you read this. Its not all that difficult to read, but its a little less than 350 pages (Owen's portion) with sections like this.
