What He Doesn't Know by Kandi Steiner

After reading this story, I was firmly team Reese. Cam's actions frustrated me, and I honestly thought Charlie would be better off leaving him and being with Reese.

Charlie did annoy me at times though. I couldn't understand why she'd stay and keep pushing for a relationship that wasn't going anywhere. A relationship where they'd shut each other out and communication was minimal.

The ending had a little twist though, and I know that book two will be a crazy emotional ride while Charlie figures out what she really wants for her life.

Yes, What He Doesn't Know, the first in the duet by the same title, has a heroine who is married and the hero is not her husband. I don't exactly know how many readers consider cheating a no-go, but what I do know is that this novel is worth taking a chance on even if it is a hard limit reading-wise for some. There's more to the book than the possibility of cheating, and I'm not going to say if it does or doesn't happen. I don't want to spoil the read for anyone who has yet to bask in the near perfection that this book is. Kandi Steiner's writing has always been her greatest draw, which is why she's been a go-to author for me ever since I discovered her books two years ago. Cheating of any sort is a delicate subject, but Steiner handles the idea of it with equal parts sensitivity and honesty. Charlie's situation is one many may have some familiarity with, whether they've been in her position before or know someone who has. And that's the thing with this book, no one--not Charlie, not Reese, and not Cameron--was a "bad" guy, at least as far as I was concerned. Their circumstances led to their lives intersecting, and what happens is based on the choices they make brought about by said circumstances. What He Doesn't Know does end with a cliffhanger, but I so encourage you to read it regardless. Five-plus stars. ♥

I am officially gutted from this story. I am done for. How will I be able to stand another book in this duet? Kandi's writing is absolutely beautiful and there is not a single book by her that I haven't loved. This book I am now going on record as saying is my favorite of hers so far and that is really saying something. Of course I am sure I will say that with her next book and the next book after that, because they are all amazing.

I don't want to talk about the storyline of this book, because I believe you need to read this story for yourselves. There is heartache and angst. There is love and moments that make you swoon. There is fun and steam. It has everything and yet I feel like it has so much more. This is such a stunning story and I am dying for the next book in this series!

Oh my heart. I fell in love with all three of the characters in this book. My heart cannot decide if I want Charlie with Cameron or Reese. This book is Poignant and filled with angst. Highly recommend this book.

Will finish the duet but will read the next one.  The female narrator grates my nerves with her inflection.

My love for Kandi Steiner and her writing will never change. I will read and review everything she ever wrote. I won’t love them all, that’s normal with any author, but that definitely doesn’t mean the book isn’t good.

This book was hard for me to rate. I was captivated by this book. By the content in it. The tough topics that were written about that the characters had endured, but the characters themselves didn’t vibe well with me.

I don’t love the love triangle trope. It doesn’t bother me, I just never end up agreeing with their choices 😂

The cliffhanger at the end of the book definitely has me interested in continuing. And the agreement Charley decides to go along with raises some interest in me…but in real life? No way both men would stick around. I don’t care how beautiful she is.
