I liked this book. I may read it again.

I was looking for a bit more in-depth biographical information on St Francis, but Rohr only provides some very brief sketches before reflecting on the implications of Franciscan spirituality. Still, Rohr’s characteristic insight makes this another book well worth the read.

It isn't that this is a bad book, it is a very good Richard Rohr book. It hits his points well and is very well thought out. I was not the target audience for this book, so it didn't hit. I enjoyed almost all of his books, but this one just didn't connect at this moment.

It was filled with opinions - not facts. The author needed to support his thoughts better.

Slow pace (particularly of audiobook). Interesting, progressive theology.

There are moments of brilliant clarity and insight in this book and then moments of meandering, unedited thoughts that put me to sleep.

Great insights about Francis as a living expression of the gospel and the emphasis in Franciscan spirituality on action over knowledge.

Still looking for a good Francis book...
