I really enjoyed this enjoyed this book. It was thoroughly escape-worthy and fun (but full of danger too). I loved the new characters introduced in this sequel.

“We all have the capacity to find the will to do what must be done - even when that which we must do terrifies us most. Remember this.”

READ. THIS. SERIES. JUST. DO. IT !!!!!!!!!! (Sorry, but I won't stop recommending these books)

So, Entice starts some times after the end of Embrace. If you didn't like Embrace that much it's okay, but because Entice is waaaaay better. The balance between romance, action and adventure was even and for those of you who hate love-triangles - it's not that overwhelming anymore.

Violet still whines a lot, but compared to book one, she got so strong and confident. You can cleary see how she's growing throughout the story. Lincoln was a bit hard to like the first half of the book, because well ... he was a complete douchbag (sorry!).
And guys ... Spence is in the house :D Oah I love Spence so much. Savage comments, brave and funny. He could have his own book. Same goes for Onyx. And Phoenix. Oh Phoenix ... I actually ship Vi with Linc because Jessica Shirvington writes sooooo beautiful romantical scenes, but Phoenix ... he makes me feel things ...

Many things happen in Entice, it's an up and down between action and quit moments. You won't get bored, really!

So guys. Just please, start this series.

I was no longer interested, and felt as if it could have ended with the first book.

I'm enjoying this series, but I have to admit that the plot twists are so well-advertised through the book that rather than be impressed, instead I find myself wondering how the characters were too stupid to see it coming. This is the sort of story that, if the author could just foreshadow a bit less, I would probably give four stars to.

I absolutely love this series. Both of the books have been absolutely brilliant. There's so much depth to them. So many weaved layers and secrets and yet everything fits together so perfectly in the grand scheme. Entice was everything I could have asked for in this dark and twisted angel story. Thrills, betrayals, laughs, desires, agony, love, fierce battles... it has it all.

Entice kicks off where Embrace left us, Violet is Grigori and not just any Grigori, a powerful one. One who isn't sure of what type of angel parented her. Violet thought Phoenix leaving would help her world tip back on balance. But, nothing is ever in balance for Violet. Everyone seems to be hiding things, including Linc. Oh and not to mention new Grigori are coming to help plus the Exiles they start to come across all tend to be linked somehow. Violet isn't one to go down without a fight thought. She'll fight for the one she loves and her people... no matter the cost for her.

I just love all these characters so much. With our protagonist Violet, I just get her. Her twistedness, her emotions, her hurt, her love, her confusion, her amazing abilities. She's so easy to fall in love with as the voice of the story. Then there's her best friend Steph and her leader Griffin, who are two characters that do no wrong in my book. Also with the old characters Magda returns as well... and basically I want to set her on fire and then stomp on the ashes. Just saying. But other than that, with the old characters we love there are new ones too. Spence especially stole the show for me. I loved his slight cockiness, his charisma, his uncanny ability to laugh and ease tension. I'm hoping to see a lot more of him in the future.

Then there's Lincoln. Oh Lincoln. I am basically in love with you. He is sexy, and dresses good, so protective and athletic. Linc is just the perfect guy and his heart always tries to be in the right place. I want Violet and him to have their happy ending so badly. These two can never seem to catch a break, and they so deserve happiness.

The ending was all kinds of an emotional roller coaster. It's one of those endings where you hope and hope but then are like "nah it won't work out that way"... Then it does and it's like hallelujah finally! Yet the ending is more than just a villain. There's war, conflicts, heartbreak, betrayal, and unbelievable truths revealed. I love this series so hard and cannot WAIT to read the next book.

While this isn't my favorite series to read, I do like that it shows there are consequences to the choices we make. Violet is struggling with her guilt and attempting damage control with her Grigori partner Lincoln (Linc) when we meet up with her in Entice. She loves Linc and has for a long time now but regardless of her feelings for the green-eyed half angel, she'll have to figure out a way to work with him as they continue to battle the exiles in an effort to protect humankind. Violet isn't the only one with secrets though. It seems Linc is keeping a few of his own and the fact that Magda might play a role somehow certainly doesn't help things.

I've always been Team Linc and while he allows himself to get distracted in this book, his intentions are always in the right place. It's obvious he loves Violet as most of his decisions are made with her safety and protection in mind. (How can you NOT love a guy like that?! Never mind that he's gorgeous too.) My frustration was with the back and forth of does he or doesn't he? Will they or won't they?

Violet can be impulsive and stubborn and while wanting to see the good in everybody isn't a bad thing, you would think a half angel would come equipped with a little more discernment. She doesn't which is why she tends to make a lot of mistakes. One of those involves Phoenix, the tall, dark and dangerous guy she thought was her friend. Phoenix is the ultimate exile and he's already proven just how powerful his influence over Violet can be. I didn't like Phoenix in Embrace and I don't like him now. (This is surprising because I'm usually a sucker for the would-be bad guy.) Something about his character makes me not trust him as far as I could throw him.

We meet new Grigori who add humor and interest to the story and they bring information that could help Violet long term. As far as second books go, this one was just "OK" for me. Yes, secrets are revealed and yes, one is that there's a traitor among the group but the "who" lacked the "OhEmGee!" factor I like to see. I've no doubt that readers will enjoy this next installment in the Embrace series and will be eager to see how it all works out with Violet, Linc and Phoenix.
