This book is set mostly in Italy and jumps between present day and the fifties. The story line revolves around a few actors from the movie Roman Holiday. We follow Ruby's story as an extra in the movie, through her acting career. Her niece's story includes life choices and consequences for decisions made and/or not made.
Really liked the way this author writes. Her descriptions of the beauty of Lake Como, along with the food, wine, and fashions were so well done. The main characters were likable, but realistic, and evolved along the way. I will be reading more from this author soon. It earned 5 stars from me, which doesn't happen often!
