Ich geb's auf und breche ab. Ich kann beim besten Willen nicht sagen, woran es lag, aber ich habe selbst nach zwei Dritteln weder in die Geschichte hineingefunden, noch einen Zugang zu den beiden Hauptcharakteren bekommen.
Ich verbinde mit Fitzeks Büchern eine Art Hass-Liebe: Ich lese sie unglaublich gern, weil es absolute Page-Turner sind, aber die Auflösungen der Fälle sind jedes Mal total absurd und hanebüchen.
Dieses Mal hat aber tatsächlich der Page-Turner-Effekt gefehlt und es ist zu keinem Zeitpunkt irgendein Gefühl von Spannung aufgekommen. Mir war es schlichtweg egal, was passiert oder wer der:die Täter:in ist.
Eigentlich bin ich es gewohnt, dass Fitzek seine Kapitel jedes Mal mit Mini-Cliffhanger beendet, damit man einfach weiterlesen MUSS. Aber hier hat er das nicht gemacht. Und deshalb war es sogar so, dass ich mich regelrecht zum Weiterlesen zwingen musste. Und das hat überhaupt keinen Spass gemacht.
Der erste Fitzek, der für mich leider eine absolute Enttäuschung war - und dieses Mal tatsächlich mal nicht aufgrund der absurden Story, sondern aufgrund der fehlenden Spannung. Das kann er deutlich besser!

Irgendwann wusste ich einfach wer es war, das nimmt ein kleines bisschen die Freude. Die Art wie es gemacht war, mit der rückwärts-zählung der Seiten & Kapitel fand ich besonders zum Schluss sehr logisch, mochte diesen „aha“ Moment 😄

Although Fitzek is one of my favorites, I struggled a lot with this book. If it was written by someone else it would be more of a 2/5 but I can't give a 2 to a Fitzek book so I'll go for 3/5.
At the start, it seemed pretty interesting and I could grasp it quickly. I was a bit turned off by Alina's power, not my cup of tea, and I had a bad feeling that a lot of things would go long unexplained because of this. (And they did)
Long story short, reaching almost the middle of the book I found myself struggling to read it, it just could not pick my interest anymore... The ending was powerful and fast paced but I'd rather have a slower and a bit more predictable ending than have almost half a book that goes insanely slowly. I don't think I'll be reading II, not in the foreseeable future at least.
