I would read another in the series.
So clunky dialog "I asked peevingly. "I like seeing people's eyes when I speak to them. There're the mirrors to the soul and all that".

Cute read, and a good start to a series, my only complaint was I guessed pretty early on who did it, and how certain people were connected.

If you like cozy mysteries, and you like Janet Evanovich's "Stephanie Plum" series, you might well like this. It's a cozy mystery set around a Southern Belle working as a realtor. First there's a dead body, then a scary, smokin' guy called Rafe (Rafael), and then... well, let's say he's a little like Ranger. It was a lot of fun, entirely safe for work, and I immediately started on book 2.

Couldn't get through the first chapter. The main character was trashing the weight of another character. It wasn't just one comment, it was a bunch. Not a character I want to spend a lot of time with.

I don't normally go all negative, so this will be super brief. This book may be a page-turning miracle for you; it wasn't that for me.

Even though almost all characters were ignorant and judgmental except the main character and Rafe, I really enjoyed this book. Most chick mysteries are silly but this was really good

I usually don't review books I quit because it's really not fair but I had to stop at 25%. This book was just terrible. The characters were ridiculous and the writing juvenile.

A little too much "Southern Pride" for my tastes. Undercurrent of racism is too strong for a cozy mystery. DNF
