Hmmm. I was looking for something light and easy after a heavier read. I loved the movie and due to the book's popularity I thought I would enjoy this one. I just didn't feel the same connection between the characters that I did in the movie.

The movie is more dramatic, thus better ;)

Wonderful, romantic, well written book. Swept me off my feet and made me cry in the end.

I love NSparks and this is my second time reading The Notebook. I enjoyed it much more 10+ years ago when I read it first. I could not get into it for some reason this time. Maybe because I already know the story.

I will never admit the movie is better than the book but I will say that I think I would have enjoyed the book more if it were told from either all Noah’s perspective with clips from Allie as flashbacks or as a dual POV.

Overall I do love the story and I know this one one of his first books written.. but for some reason I just struggled. It’s not one of my favorites of his but still a good story.
