21/100 (2018 Reading Challenge)
A great end to one my favourite manga. I for one was not disappointed in the way it ended. Or any twists throughout the series. No matter how much you may like certain characters, never been one to put down something due to that. I am sure some people will be (well from reading reviews, know) unhappy with the end but you really can not please everyone & this books star rating here leads me to believe most were happy with it. Though if you were one of those people that hated it, probably not much here to change that. Though, once again, despite missing a certain character I still enjoyed the second half of the manga series immensely.

It's over! The manga i started reaeing back when i was 16 is OVER! Woohoo. It took a long time for me to get into it but i persevered. I still tbink L doing made the story work but dang it wasnt the same without him. I liked Near though.

The ending was genius! It couldn'thave ebded any itber way but Light dying. It makes 100% sense that Matsuda wojld be the one shooting him and Ryuk wjo kills him in the end. His maniacal laughter was so unnerving gosh. Also the popular tiktok/ig reel audio 'I can't laugh yet i gotta hold it in' is apprently from death note, this volume... crazy!

I didnt like the treatment of any female characters so for that i cant say i love this series. If he wrote them well it could even be a 5 out of 5 but oh well...

This ending is diabolical and tragic. I can't recall a time wherein I was this invested in a fight between 3 twinks. Go figure.

Removing my nostalgia goggles, the first half of this series is super strong like 5 stars worthy and the second half is like a dull photocopy. Could've ended a steller run at volume 7.

I really wish I hadn't left such a big gap in this reread, because I'm struggling to rank these last few volumes in comparison to volumes I reread nearly a year ago. Mildly tempted to reread the whole thing again just to rank more accurately lol. Nonetheless, this is still my favorite manga series and I love it a lot, although I think I felt the decline after volume 7 more strongly this time.
