Every single sentence of this was intense. I loved every page. I really enjoyed how this book hardly focused on Lucas's interactions outside of the case, because he didn't really have any. It helped show how intense and important this case was.

I also enjoyed, as always, Lucas's character development and how he interacts with the people around him, especially when it comes to the case. The fact that he doesn't really care about the rules right off the bat as long he gets what he needs to apprehend the criminal adds so much to his character and really shows how much he cares about his job.

This book is definitely a close second favorite of mine for this series. The first being Shadow Prey, and no one can convince me otherwise. There's just something about a bad guy being understandable that makes them so much more relatable and likable.
