Written in the 1600s, mostly by a woman, Convent of Pleasure was written to be read, not performed. A director would have to pull heavily from their imagination to make it work on stage. If it wasn't so important in the context of feminine concerns during the time period, feminism, lesbian representation, and history, I wouldn't consider it a very good read.

I really liked reading it. My friends and I read the voices out loud which really added to the reading experience.
