First off, who doesn't love a clever pun-based title? This YA thriller focuses on the integration of a lonely college girl into a Christian campus ministry (*coughCULTcough*). As someone who is fascinated by cult experiences, I was instantly interested in this plot. As someone who could identify with some of the feelings/experiences, I was definitely sucked into the story...until the ending. The final quarter of the book felt entirely phoned in and disconnected from the rest of the compelling text, in my opinion. Perhaps the author felt compelled to pull back from a challenging subject given the YA target audience, but it was definitely disappointing as a reader.

Moderate: Drug use and Religious bigotry
