This book is a FICTIONAL diary of The Last Grand Duchess Anastasia.

I think this is a good book and it shows an example of how Anastasia’s real diary could have looked like. Even though the diary itself is completely fictional, you feel like you actually are reading Anastasia’s diary.

Even though the book is fictional, some happenings in Anastasia’s diary are true.
The war unfortunately did happen, they did die and Anastasia’s little brother did have that disease which they tried to hide for the people of Russia.

I love the animated movie ❝Anastasia❞ and that’s how I got to know about Anastasia in the first place. I’ve always been fascinated by her and her story and I wish that her story ended differently. No matter how her father ruled Russia in their time I know that no family deserves a fate like the one their family ended up with. And especially not Anastasia and her siblings who didn’t do anything wrong, they were just children.

If you also loved the animated movie ❝Anastasia❞ or just like me are fascinated by her and her story, I think this is a book you should read, even though it’s fictional.

This was also one of my childhood favorites. I loved these series as a child. I must confess I kind of want to re-read this book and read more from these series, even if they are meant for people much younger.

I think it's a good read for young readers, you find out about the Romanovs, their lives through the eyes of Anastasia via her diary.
It was an okay read for me, I thought the end (when Meyer gathered all the information about what happened after Anastasia's last entry) was the most interesting.

I read this YEARS ago as a small child. I loved all the diaries I could get my hands on. And remember particularly loving Anastasia's.

A reread, this book triggered my love for all things Russian history when I was eight years old and I still hold it dear to my heart.

Part fiction & part historical, this book is a good peek into Romanov family before & during World War 1. Just a little bit sad knowing their fate especially Anastasia, who're portrayed in this book as a sassy & witty girl. I can feel that she became more mature from 12 going to 17.

On the side note, I learned a lot about the history & culture of Russia so I really recommend this to children & high school's students.

These books really connected me to my favorite female characters in history. I would recommend the series to a young girl who is interested in history.

I really liked this book more than the last one I read in the series, though I could definitely tell this book was written for a younger audience, which once again, made me wish I had known about these books when I was in the proper age group, but such is life. The story line is good, I connected with Anastasia and her family and there was a part of me that grew upset during the epilogue even though I knew it was coming. I learned a lot as well. It was worth the read. 4.5 out of 5 stars.
