the art is gorgeous and the plot is so enriching, though there were a few jumps that left me kinda (?), but i don't think that's atypical of comics. again - the artwork is just gorgeous, and i love the sapphic representation. so much fun!

Really enjoyed the tumultuous setting 1970s Detroit, and how it depicts the intensity of the struggle of Black people - particularly Black women. The main character was gritty and powerful, and I'd love to see a TV show of this.

Abbott is a pretty spectacular character. This book didn’t quite hit like the first, but it’s still well worth the read. I’m glad to hear there will be another installment!

I received an eARC courtesy of Boom! Studios in exchange for my honest review.

The storyline just did not feel terribly unique and the characters seemed super flat.
