Super cute story about an adventurer who decides to open a coffee shop! Really enjoyed how wholesome it is and loved the characters. Fun that it is in an D&D style world!

I've heard Becky Chambers work called the "sci fi story equivalent of a hug". If that's the case, then this book is the fantasy version of a hug. There's a coffee shop, standard fantasy setting, a diverse collection of fantasy characters, and it's charming. Characterization is not well executed, but I felt myself drawn in regardless.

Warm and fuzzy at almost every turn, with just enough action to keep things interesting if that isn’t your thing. Absolutely adorable character designs, with genuine and natural stranger-to-friend-to-family growth. A romance that doesn’t feel rushed or like it comes out of nowhere, built on understanding and sometimes knowing your partner better than they know themselves. Addresses racism and sexism subtly but tactfully, with an emphasis on the value of community. A quick read but worth every second.
