I cried with and for the characters. A lovely cozy story outside of my usual reads. The premise drew me in, but it was the characters that kept me. The ending tied loose ends a little too nicely for my taste, but I think that's more on the cozy low-stakes vibe the story has than any fault of the writing.

I really enjoyed this! It had me laughing and crying whilst I was meant to be falling to sleep. Having the author narrate the audiobook just made it even better.

A wonderful introduction to cosy fantasy, this book explores Viv and her journey to set up a cafe with lots of fun characters (Thimble being a personal favourite) and lots of cosy descriptions. Wonderful escapism.

My one critique was the epilogue, I didn't think it was needed and if so, I think it could have focused on other characters; I wasn't very fussed about who it discusses and it jarred me out of the bubble of the ending. This is why it was not a 5 star read, but it was damn close as it is just so lovely.

Not necessarily a moving or intellectual read, but a good book to read/listen to when you want some small cosy joy in your life.
