It's Mia Sheridan...are we really that surprised?! In all seriousness, this book was amazing and I will now forever be jealous that I did not grow up in nature.
This was my second read from Mia Sheridan and with each book, I continue to fall more and more in love with her stories and writing style. Every character she writes is so detailed and truly feels more like a real friend or person than just a fictional character.
As for the story, I adored following the lives of Kyland and Tenleigh. Watching these two teens, who are constantly living in survival mode, fall in love and peace with each other was truly a heartwarming and unforgettable experience, especially as someone who can relate strongly to Tenleigh in many ways. I also really enjoyed the added anticipation that came from the scholarship plot and I absolutely loved the twist and turns that lead up to the final reveal of the story.
Overall the story was beautiful, the setting was beautiful, and each and every character was perfectly imperfect in their own way. Another great read from Mia that I highly recommend to every romance reader <3

Great characters, loved the first 60% but then we time jump and she doesn't devote enough time to the reconciliation. I love Mia's writing, but it's something that I've noticed with her books...her pacing is off and it can jar you out of the story. It starts off fantastic, time jump, super quick wrap up then brief epilogue. Flesh out the ends and you'd have consistent five stars from me!

This book was a frickin emotional roller coaster.

I wanted to throw my kindle across the several times.

Those on heart medication, please refrain from opening this book!

WOW WOW WOW. How dare this book be so good?

My expectations were low. I’ve only read “Stinger” from Mia Sheridan before, and it was all right. This, on the other hand, was gritty, heartbreaking, twisty, soul-wrenching, and authentic. I’ve seen some others compare this to Colleen Hoover’s writing, but don’t let that discourage you. I’m not a CoHo fan, and I liked this. It was written beautifully.

This is again a story by an amazing storyteller. This one will stay with me for a long time. I felt actual pain in my heart while reading this tale of love and sacrifice.
