4.5 stars. Excellently written. I personally think that it contains the perfect amount of suspense to make the overall novel successful in its genre. Looking forward to reading the next books in the series. The only think I hated was the fact that it kept me up late at night to just finish another chapter. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good crime novel.

I am in one word Disappointed... just let down it starts off really interesting and intriguing I liked the lecture type start I also liked the fact that the main character is “sort of” recovering (running away) from his past.... but this is where I get confused and just a bit annoyed. At first I thought this was fairly modern probably present day England ( yes I know there must be villages still like the sort of villages you find in a Victorian setting where every outsider is the devil blah blah blah) but it felt like instead of present-day it was now 1930’s or 20’s era yes the Land Rover and other cars kind of didn’t fit but the whole village mindset and stuff just felt hollow naive and just full of holes. And soon it went absolutely crazy with murders coming out of the ground like maggots (literally) and oh god it was awful and gahhh did not like it it’s left a bad taste in my mouth.
