I binged this in one day, it was a fast read and I was pretty surprised by the plot twist(s).
This felt a little similar to Ward D, but I still enjoyed it.

While the main character is pretty naive and HER perspective makes the story a little fuzzy. Its the epilogue that makes the entire story worth it! The overall story is predictable, the "twist" isn't completely unexpected- and the "monster" is exactly who you expect. I wish we had spent more time at the prison dealing with the actual premise, but whatever. For a quick and easy read it's not bad and keeps you thinking.

I’m not a thriller reader and wanted to give it a try as Freida is popular at the moment. I have only read a handful of thrillers but I’m mainly a romance reader. I would suggest taking my review with a grain of salt.

What can I say this was more dramatic than any romance books I have read. The who did it, who to trust and the pointing finger game isn’t for me. I was just frustrated waiting for answers and we didn’t get any until the end. I didn’t care for the characters they should all be in jail. I wasn’t phased by the plot twists, characters or ending.
Also who doesn’t know you could make pancakes from scratch?! Crazy.
Lastly the unrealistic release immediately after someone went to jail is crazy as a huge fan of crime. It would take years not a week

Maybe thriller isn’t for me? Or Freida as an author isn’t it for me? I don’t know.

THE BEST BOOK IVE READ ALL YEAR!!! Insane plot twists you wouldn’t see coming! Wow my new favorite thriller author!!! This is the type of book that makes me want to lower all my other book ratings by a star. This is the ultimate five star book!! I hope this book is made into a move one day!

********** SPOILER **********

Felt like I was reading some adult version of I know What You Did Last Summer. Most of the book was mediocre, and the reveal was almost laughable, but the last chapter, the epilogue of what really happened after the reveal, gave me chills.

Only thing I can’t figure out is whether Shane and Brooke are related. They share a father, so yeah, but then why are the characters treated as if they weren’t half-siblings? Very confused!

  • This was by far my favorite book from Freida out of the 4 I’ve read so far!!
  • There was so much suspense and mystery and I loved the past and present POVs where the details were revealed little by little.
  • This was one of those thrillers that I was so sure was going to be disappointing because the killer couldn’t have been more obvious but by the end I had to just sit there for 5 minutes trying to process what just happened because I was in SHOCK. I didn’t see any of that coming and it’s definitely one of my favorite twists!
  • Also, that last line???? It was another twist I wasn’t expecting and it’s definitely going to haunt me.
  • If you loved Jar of Hearts by Jennifer Hillier, I’d highly recommend this because it reminded me of it with the way that the MC’s ex is the suspected killer and they both have pretty shocking endings. I can’t wait to read more by this author and I’m already trying to decide what’ll be my next read!!

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH.

Just when I thought I had figured out the book and what actually happened, here comes Freida McFadden with ANOTHER twist. There was like 3 twists at the end. Such a wild ride, and I loved every minute of it.
