i love elle kennedy. this book made me cry at 3 AM. i didn’t forget how much i enjoy her storytelling, but i was still pleasantly satisfied every time i laughed and yearned to know more. dialogue so charming, it had me reciting lines aloud. i’ve been reading so many books that use sex as the selling tactic (whether or not the ratio of sex to plot is imbalanced or not), so it’s refreshing to finally read something and look forward to the plot development and not the next hookup scene. step 1 to exiting my dark romance comfort spiral/reading rut.
february 23 thru february 24. finished in under 24 hrs bby we’re so back.

4+ I liked this one even better than the Graham Effect. This one follows that one though it’s not exactly a sequel. Same cast, different leads.
I really liked the storylines.
Enemies to lovers as outer frame of story
Then inner plots-
Immature vs mature relationships
Domestic abuse
Ballroom dancing
Relationships with parents
Several plots wrapped in one. Again, mature themed-not safe to listen to in the car with others. And “dicksand”

I think The Dixon Rule has become my favourite book Elle Kennedy has ever written - or at the very least, it's snagged a permanent spot in my favourites of hers. I laughed, I cried, and awwed so many times.
It was funny, heart breaking, and so cute.
