Anyone interested in shibari (rope bondage) should pick up this book and give it a read. It's by far the best shibari book I've read so far. Lee Harrington offers advice through the beginning of the book, walking anyone new to shibari through the basics of different ropes, safety techniques, items to have on hand, and a glossary of common terms. Think of it like the instruction manual. You need it. You should read it.
As for the knots and ties themselves, they are clearly explained and laid out by pictures so that anyone who can learn by reading instructions and viewing images should have no trouble at all following the instructions. The models are diverse, and the language is simple. There are a variety of knots and ties ranging from beginner to intermediate/advanced. It's a practical guide to keep close with you through your bondage journey.
I think that by far my favorite part of the book was the gender-neutral language. There were VERY few instances of gendered words and expression, which makes this book a safe bet 95% of the time for nonbinary or trans people who don't want to be discouraged by gendered words that trigger dysphoria.
A very well thought out, sensible, practical and easy to use guide. Recommend to anyone looking to get started, or interested in shibari.
