Never read or watched The Walking Dead, but as a thriller, the first volume is intriguing; I haven't made up my mind yet completely - will need to read more.

Interested to see where this goes. The story is only just getting started, and it fumbled around a bit in the beginning. The art is a good match for the story and set's a lot of the tone. The colors, in particular, are gorgeous.

It's not as good as his fame-maker Walking Dead, but to be fair... Walking Dead isn't as great as everyone thinks it is anyway, so. Maybe I'm biased. I'm not particularly fond of the demon possession / religious horror sub-genre anyway. This is kinda gory, but pretty trite otherwise.

Dark, mysterious and unsettling. I've been watching the recent TV adaptation on Starz and much of the content from the aired episodes is lifted straight from this first volume with a handful of minor changes. The pace is on the slow side, which is understandable since multiple characters and their connections are being established as well as the overall story arc. I'm definitely intrigued enough to continue reading to see where this series goes.

Fantastic! I was concerned that The Walking Dead was a one-off for Kirkman, but not to fear. This was a completely adult, very serious beginning to a tale I can't wait to finish.

I'll give the series one more shot...
Pretty lackluster tbh.
