Ana is a trip

Now that he has taken his father's place on the board, he is developing his power through the tutelage and guidance of his father. Now a new person in the form of his cousin Gabrielle is throwing a monkey wrench in his plans. He sees him as a threat. He is going through a place in his life to where he longs for a calming loving family life like his father. The only person who can calm him is Renee. But the members of the Vory V Zakone are married to the bratva. His father strayed from that life and allowed the members of his coalition to have a family life. He wanted one too.

Gabrielle is conflicted by what he was charged to do and what he has learned about the Medlov family. They were not monsters but were a real family who loved and cared for each other. They had their suspicions of him at first but won their hearts, even Anatoly's. He felt like he was more a part of the family than he ever did with his mother and father growing up. Revenge became less important and he had to find a way to get out of giving the government what it wanted and protecting his family too.

All of the Dmitry Medlov books are excellently written. The only problem with indie authors is the editing of content. If you can overlook some minor editing problems this story is well plotted.

NOTE: after re-reading on 5 Aug 20254 When will the coalition board of Bratva learn that they can not threaten anyone in the Medlov family and think they will get away with it? Anatoly proved that he will use unorthodox methods to get his point across and Dmitry showed that he still reigns power in the Medlov Bratva. He's a "bad mutha...shut yo' mouth."

I like this series, but the romance part seems secondary (even tertiary) in these novels. This one in particular needed a good editor/proofreader, all the errors almost destroyed the novel. I love the psychotic/violent side to both the Medlov men...don't judge me(lol). I didn't enjoy this one as much as the second, but I will finis the series with the fourth installment. It leaves a bit to be desired with the main romance/relationship not taking center stage. In this series I find myself enjoying the male leads a lot more than the female lead. Renee is lovely and I'm glad Royal became more tolerable as the story line has unfolded. I will say that I am wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more into The Battaglia Series by Sienna Mynx. When is that fourth book coming out by the way?

Not as good as his father but still a good read. It seemed Anatoly's dad was always saving his butt, and I seriously could of used more romance in this one. Still worth a read though.
