It is truly incredible how much the author has done in such a short poetry collection. Alcestis in the Underworld combines rumination and memories of Soviet and post-Soviet reality and appreciation of broader life, nature, domesticity, work, abstract emotion and death in a delicate yet spot-on way. It is a unique work that makes you feel like an observer of things both unusual and daily. It lets you into itself until you suddenly unequivocally find yourself.
