A super enjoyable read for fans of the Something Like series. I loved visiting with these wonderful characters again and the last story...*sigh*...was pure magic. 4 stars

I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up the seventh book in the Something Like... series. I knew it was short stories but I didn't know how they fit into everything. I was pleasantly surprised, especially because one of the stories made me pick up another Bell book!

Something Like Yesterday: Tells the story of Eric's life. Sad and wonderful all at once.

Something Like Fall: Tells three little stories about Jace, Tim and Jason, all from Ben. Meeting Jace's family and building his own. I loved this three part story the most.

Something Like Tonight: a hilarious night of fun shared with Michelle and Allison. These two are fun together and I loved seeing them be a bit irresponsible and have a good time!

Something Like Eternity: Before this story it is mentioned that you should read [b:Hell's Pawn|12046104|Hell's Pawn|Jay Bell|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1311090030l/12046104._SY75_.jpg|17012873] so I set the book aside and read it. I LOVED that book. Anyway, this tells the story of Victor after all the souls are released from Purgatory and him meeting up with Jace and finding his true calling in the afterlife. While this adds a weird fantasy aspect to the series that I wasn't sure I was okay with, I really leaned into it and embraced it because it makes things cozy and lovely. Especially harkening back to Something Like Fall where Tim is convinced that Eric and Jace sent Jason to him and Ben to keep them company.

The (not-so) Secret Files of Allison Cross: just a convenient guide of characters told from Allison's perspective and...makes Jay Bell a character in his own books lol

Overall I just loved this set of shorts and am excited to get back to the main books next.

Second read of the first anthology. Good stuff. Background on Eric, an Allison/Michelle homance, a really moving conclusion to Jace’s life, but not his story, and some great background on the other characters!

Averages out to a 3.8

Something Like Yesterday: 2.75. Don't get me wrong, I adore Eric but for some reason I wasn't too into his story. We learnt most of what we needed from Winter. His perspective was definitely a nice touch but I wasn't too gripped into the story.

Something Like Fall: 3.75. I loved the first third of this, as well as the second. The last third fell flat for me. I did absolutely adore the Jace part though and loved that perspective though and felt I got a lot out of it.

Something Like Tonight: 4. I absolutely adore Allison and I love that Jay wrote from her perspective; it only seems natural she's the first women he wrote too (I am low key waiting for an Emma book though). I liked watching her form more of a relationship with Michelle (who I also love).

Something Like Eternity: 5. When I found out one of the stories would be about Victor you can bet i was excited. While it was nothing like I expected it would be (and I haven't read Hell's Pawn yet) it was definitely my favourite of the bunch. And I had a lot of emotions.

I just need to put this out there: This is a hard review to write. How do you write a review about a collection of stories that has been named a finalist in the LAMBDA Literary Awards, in the category of Gay Romance? Congratulations to Mr. Bell for this honor.

Kevin R. Free has narrated all of the Something Like… stories. Let’s just stop and think about that for a minute. This audiobook is over twelve hours long. Each of the audiobooks have been over ten hours each. I can’t even fathom how many hours he spent preparing for these audios and recording them. And let’s not forget the character voice development. Each character has their own voice—no two characters sound alike. I think that Kevin R. Free is a true talent. I think I need to say that louder—Kevin R. Free is a true talent!

If you are a fan of the Something Like… series you will enjoy reminiscing, as Jay Bell and Kevin R. Free take you on a journey and give some of the characters an ending, or, as I like to call it, the rest of the story. If I had a favorite it would have to be Something Like Eternity. Victor is my favorite character and Something Like Autumn is my favorite book of the series. To hear about Victor and knowing that he found his destiny was just amazing to me. Yes, I know they are characters in a story that Jay Bell created, but Victor is special. I see him every day, standing in front of my local convenience store smoking a cigarette.

Thank you, Jay Bell, for another great book, and thank you to Kevin R. Free for continuing to narrate these books. You are both incredibly talented in your crafts!
