Pluses:
Quick read
Jakobi Diem narrates 🤤
Great sex scenes
‌
âž–Minuses
TOOO much sex
Not enough hockey
Two words for Krystle and Ford: Grow up!
‌
This was my least favorite of the two, which is a surprise because I love 2nd chance romance.
‌
There’s less sex (until the end), which I appreciated and more story, characters, background.
‌
The best parts of the book for me were the banter within the hockey team - funny, and the “past” sections from them as kids! The artwork that Crystal created of Ford was absolutely beautiful.
‌
I can never understand why married people toss around the big “D” word. From both books it seems like the author has a fascination for men who are virgins or have only been with one woman?
‌
The story waits until the end to broach mental health which should’ve been added in sooner.
‌
It was sheer pleasure hearing Jakobi talk dirty to me, I mean, narrating the sex scenes đź«Ł I recommend these if you want a hot as fire smutty read for cold nights!

I, generally, really enjoy the works of this author, so I think this. Ok was just a miss for me. There was so much time spent in the past for the characters, the latter chapters seemed rushed, I was not the biggest fan of the FMC. It was just a lot. I have read more than a few A. House novels and this, by far, is my least favorite.Â
Moderate: Alcoholism, Toxic relationship, Mental illness, and Abandonment
Minor: Self harm, Racism, and Suicidal thoughts

Another stellar read by AH and performance by my fav narrators. We finally get Crystal and Ford’s story which a story that spans time and circumstances. Not only is this a sports romance, this story is about second chances, mental illnesses, and creating a found family. It was emotional, funny, and hopeful read. I’m thankful for authors who shines positive light on neurodivergence and mental illnesses among characters. And Robin Stick is a character lol
