Hook, Line and Sinker by Tessa Bailey is another novel that is worthy of being made into a television movie!

This story is part of a duology about the Bellinger Sisters, with the first novel focusing on Piper, the LA party girl, meeting and falling for Brendan, the local King Crab boat captain. We now follow the story of Hannah, the younger sister, always the supporting actress, never the leading lady, as she steps out of her comfort zone and tentatively dips her toe into the world of movie scores whilst she harbours a crush on the film's director.

Following an idea that she puts out there, Hannah and the whole movie crew move from L.A. to Westport, where she ends up in the spare room of Fox, local Casanova. But they are just friends, right? This cues up more misunderstandings and miscommunications as they each unravel their own issues.

I borrowed a copy of this book from Taunton Library and listened to it on CloudLibrary. I read this for the 52 Book Club Summer Reading Challenge 2024, for prompt 19, team handball, author shares same last name as an Olympian.

TESSA GOD DAMM BAILEY. Gurlll. The way I was kicking my feet and giggling! First off Fox is every reasonable girl's dream. Kind, funny, hot, respectful, thoughtful, and strong? Sign me up! I loved Hannah in the last book and seeing her through Fox's eyes and her own perspective is even better. She's thoughtful and kind plus she's got great music taste. The banter and chemistry between the two of them was wafting off the page. I'm usually more into enemies to loves or something similar (which is why I loved Piper and Brendens book) but this friends to lovers? Top tier! I think this is the best Tessa book I've read out of the 5 so far. Kudos to you Tessa!

Tropes: opposites attract, miscommunication

Enjoyed the musical parts of this story the most, but found the gratuitous sexual content too much. The texting was a more realistic part of the relationship development than the in-person stuff, which was essentially all Insta-lust, all the time. An enjoyable read, regardless. I did feel sorry for the MMC and the way he was treated by so many people.

10/10. I really enjoyed this book. Even when I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about the characters. This book made me laugh, made me cry, made me horny, and made me frustrated. I wouldn't change anything about this book. I highly recommend it.

This wasn't a bad story, there were definitely some good things in it, but it reminded me why I like my romance as the subplot and preferably in a fantasy world.

These two are infinitely more likable than Piper and Brendon.
