✨ Gifted ✨

I absolutely ADORE Munroe Bergdorf, so getting this book from my friend made me feel so happy 🥹

This book needs content warnings which we will obviously include below 🥲

Despite being in the public eye for years, with people behaving horrifically towards her, it’s no wonder that Bergdorf has lived a difficult life. This book gives us a better understanding about life as a Black trans woman. Bergdorf shares trauma, but she also shares true joy 🏳️‍⚧️❤️

4 out of 5 stars for me, thank you ✨

As expected from the amazingly talented Monroe Bergdorf, this book is written and structured brilliantly. I read it in a day but spent time allowing the emotive and thought-provoking moments to resonate with me. It’s so valuable to have the unfiltered voice of a trans person - especially a Black woman - available for people to hear, especially at the moment. Monroe describes in the book a friendship with another trans person who guided her at the start of her transition, and this book felt like Monroe doing this for me.
