I have to start this by saying, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t NOT hear Deadpool in Ryan Reynolds voice…and it made the story that much better!
I love Deadpool! He’s a badass, sassy, and hilarious! Couple that with an equally badass art style, Japanese setting, and a ton of fourth wall breaking and you’ve got an Action Comedy graphic novel that got more than a few chuckles out of me. (I seriously REALLY love the art style!)
The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star review is how many times the fourth wall was broken and all the anime/crossover references. It felt a little much, even for Deadpool, but it was still interesting to see what he was going to quip back with! I still intend on reading more if I can!
[Note: I read this on a tablet, but I think it would be much more enjoyable with a physical version. Thanks to my local library for having it available though!]
