A sweet story about sharing one's gifts, and how everyone has gifts to share, even if they don't realize it.

I love this series. I’m into the rhythm of it all, I think the friendship modeling is real sweet, and I like the illustrations. My kids are always happy to see me get them from the library.

Not as catchy as Bear Snores On or Bear Stays Up, but still fun and lovely. We love bear and my kids are 11, 9, 7. They still love these stories!

Bear Says Thanks by Karma Wilson

Children’s Picture Book
Format: Hard Cover
Book 57 of 2022
On Saturday I ended up doing Storytime at BN. I could not find the book we were supposed to read, How to Catch a Turkey (I guess he ran away) instead I read Bear Says Thanks. This is a cute little book about being grateful and realizing that sometimes even though we may think we have nothing to offer, our presence, stories, laughter, love, and hugs are enough. Very quick and simple read packed with a lovely message.

Bear has come up with the perfect way to say thanks—a nice big dinner! When Bear decides to throw a feast, his friends show up one by one with different platters of delicious food to share. There’s just one problem: Bear’s cupboards are bare! What is he to do?

Adorable book about a bear who’s friends all come bearing gifts for a feast and he feels ashamed for not having anything to give as well, but his friends rally around him encouraging him that it’s ok and he’s enough.

This is a children’s picture book about a bear and his wish to say Thanks to his friends but his fears about not having anything to contribute to the Thanksgiving dinner.

What a wonderful way to address wanting to show gratitude with THINGS but not having them to give, so you find (maybe with some help from your friends) how you give of yourself and that is enough. Sweet.
