Well this isn’t my typical type of book but I did appreciate the author providing a “before you begin” type of intro. My first dark romance and it did not disappoint! Overall storyline was intriguing from a different perspective of the villain not changing but staying as he is. Kinda gave me a Fifty Shades type of vibe. I love the how the author incorporated characters from Peter Pan and how each played not the normal roles you typically hear about. Spicey scenes for sure but also had me sitting on the edge of seat like a thriller, but that’s just my opinion. Would have been a 5 star but there was just some triggers that I did not like imagining happen to a child (though she did not go into detail, which I’m thankful for but could still imagine the perversion of what could have happened). All in all I might continue with the series but would definitely need to be in the mood for something dark.

This was looking so close to being a 5 star but man- that ending i didn’t like it. Before I talk all about the negatives i want to talk about what I enjoyed I loved James and exploring his backstory and connections I loved seeing his veiw of Wendy and how it changed over the course of the book! I also adored Wendy! A lot of people have said her daddy issues were a negative for them but i didn’t mind it at all her issues with her father made sense to me! I also loved the references of each place, thing and person to the Peter Pan story I loved that the jolley Rodger wasn’t the boat but instead the bar and I loved how pixie dust was a drug it was amazing! ENDING SPOILERS Now onto what I didn’t like the reveal with smee I think it was unneeded and kind of lazy- I did absolutely love the reveal with Jon being James half - brother I think the author should have focused on building that instead of throwing in the “oh smee is james cousin and hates him blah blah blah” I think the author might have been having a hard time figuring out how to get to the ending. But overall really amazing book and writing I would definitely recommend as a first step into dark romance

😳 <— me after listening to the audiobook.

Hooked well, had me hooked 🤣 the plot twists and turns had me on my toes the whole time. It hit every key point in reference to the original Peter Pan stories but of course with her own twist.

The portrayal of Hook was done so well throughout the whole story. He was this vengeful mastermind who would do anything in his power to protect the things he values most, including the sweet and innocent Wendy.

Wendy was little cloud of cotton candy. So sweet and innocent to everything that was going on around her until it really came down to it. Then she turned into a bad azz biotch ( I’m not sure if Goodreads would like bad words spelled out, sorry 🥲).

The spice was top notch ( gimme a fan because wooo it was hot) & just the overall chemistry between the two was undeniable.

I am a little unsure how I feel about the ending with Peter, Hook and Wendy. I understand why it happened the way it did, I just feel like it was a little out of her character, but maybe that was point.

The story was dark, engaging and full of holy crap moments. I definitely will be reading the rest of the series with the energy this story gave off.
