Read for a challenge at work. I don’t normally do cozy mysteries, but this was a fun quick read.

2.5*s. This book didn't need to be as long as it was. I did not appreciate the repetitions and the mass of unnecessary scenes and details. Otherwise, the book was ok, and I liked the lack of animosity between the main character than the official investigators, and the lack of suspicion cast on her personally.

I might check out other books in the series when I am in the mood for a cozy mystery.

This was cute. I like the town and the characters just fine. If another one of the books came across my TBR pile. I would pick it up, but I don’t know that I’m rushing out to buy them either.

Up To No Gouda is a delightful, cheesy slice of cozy mystery heaven! Carly Hale is living her dream, serving up gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches at her eatery in the charming town of Balsam Dell. But things take a sharp turn when her high school ex, Lyle Bagley, now the town bully, buys her building and wants her out. Just as Carly is scrambling to save her beloved shop, Lyle is found dead behind her dumpster—talk about a muenster-sized problem!
With one of her employees under suspicion, Carly puts on her sleuthing hat to clear her friend's name and uncover the real killer. The twists keep coming as Carly navigates small-town politics, nosy neighbors, and plenty of cheesy puns, all while keeping her eatery afloat. This cozy mystery is as satisfying as a perfectly grilled sandwich, with a warm, gooey center and just the right amount of crunch. An awesome read for anyone who loves a good whodunit with a side of delicious food!

I really loved this start to a new series. Carly’s grilled cheese sandwich shop made me so hungry I had to make a grilled cheese and tomato soup lunch while listening.
The cast of characters is great and I look forward to getting to know them and their stories more with this series.
I didn’t see the murderer coming. So many options and the connections made - hard to review without giving anything away but it was great!

A nice start to a new series with enjoyable characters. I liked meeting Carly and her friends. The story moved at a nice pace with a good storyline. I will continue this series.
