First book I read after graduating college. Pretty much exactly what you think it is.

Book is just as good as the first time I read it. Great incorporation of fiction mixed in with the history.

A fascinating alternate history tale. A fairly quick read that is made all the better by photographs through it. The only downside I found is some captions for the photos are a bit hard to read, but that doesn't take away from the tale. I'd recommend this book to anyone.

At first listen, I really liked the intensity of this book, but it got tedious after a few chapters - very somber, dank, depressing tone. I was hastening to "read" it before the movie came out, but then they movie was so panned, I have yet to see it. I could envision the actors though in the roles which was helpful.
The Lincoln diaries paint a very Dark ages type feel to young America which is cool but after a while, the grimness of his life and vampire battling just seemed oddly unparallel to our nation's history. I am conflicted b/c I liked the idea vamps being the cause for this historical event or that, but Lincoln's life really sucked (no pun intended) if you follow this timeline.
I recently started listening to Seth's first stab, Pride & Prejudice & Zombies, and I am enjoying it greatly, even moreso than this one. I think it's b/c he's parodying the source material so wickedly clever, and maybe he could've used a bit more of that satire in this one to completely enthrall me.
Overall Seth is a talented writer and his use of spinning source material makes for an entertaining read. I will no doubt be preferring the book over the movie once I see what they spliced together.

I found this style of writing difficult to enjoy. There is little to no separation of narration from character dialogue, especially the random switches into journal entries of Lincoln. Interesting history mashup, but poorly compiled as a book. I have a feeling it's one of those books that is more easily digested as a film.
