From when I put a hold on Libby to when I listened was a while. When I started listening I had forgotten what the book was about and thought for the first chapter it was fiction, then checked the title again to see it was nonfiction. Either way, the beginning of the book had me hooked.

Really enjoyed listening to the book. Delving into the incarceration culture, motherhood guilt while struggling with addiction & incarceration, and then the struggles of trying to avoid being re-incarcerated and all the barriers that seem to be directing people back into incarceration. Highly recommend to see the lived experience of addiction, recover, self forgiveness, and navigating the struggles in-between.

This book was fantastic.

It was funny, heartwrenching, shocking and inspiring.

It was incredibly candid and vulnerable and shed a light on the challenges of incarcerated women and people struggling with addiction.

I am amazed by Hardin's capacity for kindness and forgiveness and am so grateful that I stumbled upon her story.

After finishing her book, I immediately found her TedTalk and it was equally fantastic.

Highly recommend.
