So far this one is my least favorite books of the series. That being said,I enjoyed it a lot. Loved the character development and the world building. I really missed some of the characters from other books. And there were a couple of plot developments that felt just a bit too deux ex-machina for me (it is a yound adult book after all) and that really is the extent of my complaint. All in all,an easy, enjoyable read.

Never before have I given a Brandon Sanderson book below a 4, I think! This book was ambitious and it did the things it set out to do, but something was...missing.

I didn't connect to it as I did with the previous two books. Maybe it was the lack of complicated but lovable cast/crew? Maybe it was being thrown into a new world that was confusing and new and didn't lay the groundwork for being cared for? I'm unsure, but I found myself, dare I say it, setting the book to 1.1x, something I only do when I want to speed up the reading of a book, to finish it.

Spensa's arc was great, she certainly grew. MBOT as always steals the show. And Doomslug's line of "You equals home" slayed me.
