Cross My Heart is a charming story that will in no doubt warm your heart and have you hanging onto every page.

Jaden is the ultimate good girl. Everyone loves her. She does all her work, applied to Harvard, has a hot boyfriend, and seems to be perfect. That all comes crashing down when she is paired with Parker Whalen for an English project. Parker is the quiet, brooding type that seems to do things on his own and he likes it that way. He doesn't want to let anyone in and it seems Jaden is getting under his skin. When these two start to peel back each others layers, Jaden begins to realize that Parker is hiding something and even worse, that she's falling for him.

I really adored this book. I love the fact that Jaden has two brothers like myself, and they are two brothers that look out for her. Also, that sometimes the pressure to be perfect is too much to bear and one person shouldn't have to carry all that responsibility. You need to be able to chose what is best for you, not what is best for others. Another thing I loved was the whole "love aspect" and how can you tell if you truly love someone or if it's just convenient. That point hit home with me so hard, I wanted to hug Katie Klein for throwing it in there.

Also, the characters. Jaden is the girl you loved to hate in high school. She's seems like the all around perfect girl who has everything, but on the inside there is a girl that is slowly breaking. A girl who needs to find herself. And Jaden, surely does. Parker on the other hand is quiet yet outspoken, good-looking, and smart. And HELLO he drives a blue and silver sports bike... how hot is that?! I loved reading the parts with these two together. The bantering, the fun, the secret meetings... Cross My Heart couldn't be a better title!

I have to admit, there is a huge twist at the end of this story and you know what it actually made me love Parker even more. It also made me love Jaden and her family even more. The twist was intense and so perfect for the story. I really, really enjoyed this book and for the price you can't beat it!! Cross My Heart is a quick, fun read and I'm sure if you get it, you will love it! Five stars out of Five. :)

Quite enjoyable until the term "feminist Nazi" sprung up.

I feel like there was too much focus on some things, and not enough on the others (how specific). I would have liked to have had a bit more insight on Blake and Parker. Her friends were also pretty dull.

(The sequel is in Parker`s POV and I just got really excited.)

Me gusto y demasiado este libro, desde que empecé a leerlo no pude parar hasta terminarlo y fue asombroso.
Las historias en donde las cosas inesperadas salen en medio y los secretos son lo que la hacen tan unica y diferente de los libros.

This one is a really, really nice book, not a magnificent one, but very cute and romantic one.

So, just like the previous books I picked since new year, I didn't have a single idea what this book is all about, aside from it's romance. It's kinda boring at first because, well, because nothing is really spectacular about the story, but I'm glad I came across this one. The plot and the characters were not the most original out there and they're a bit common, it is also quite predictable but the author did a good job in writing the whole story.

I know that there is something in the story, some great twist or what. I am not really certain when I was reading the first few chapters about the 'something' in this story but I know there is. I am totally bored by Jaden's character, it seems that she is very afraid to commit mistakes. I know I was able to survive high school because I do a lot of crazy things like not studying the night before a major exam, and I regret it in the morning but kinda do that a few more times. I never wanted to be perfect and I hate it when people around me expects too much from me, it irritates me cause I never expect too much from myself. That's why I'm pretty empathetic towards Jaden. Actually, Jaden and I are kinda similar in someways. I know how it feel to be rejected by your dream school, and how your world can fall apart in a matter of few minutes.
Spoiler The part where Jaden didn't get into Harvard is my favorite part in the story.
That's the most realistic thing I've ever read, it'e telling everyone that nothing is perfect, we're all humans and getting a 'no' is a part of life. I love all the lessons about life that you can get in this book. The books shows the reality of life- family problems, concept of unexpected love, pain, letting go of someone, holding onto someone, it's just whoah.

And then Parker comes. So okay, he's the mysterious guy around the campus, so typical. I like mysterious guys but he's not mysterious enough for me to like him that much. But I loved the fact that he is smart. Smart is the new sexy, just like what they say.
When I was reading the story, I know that the love story is good, but there's more to it. I believe that there's more than just a typical love story. And when I reached the chapter 11, that's the time I confirmed my theories,
SpoilerParker is not Parker! The movie Three Idiots crossed my mind. Maybe, just maybe, Parker is someone who is pretending to be someone else. That's the time where I gain all my interest in the story. But along the way, the more I read, the more I feel like, maybe my theory was wrong. Maybe Parker was Parker after all, cause he said he never lied but maybe he was just hiding something.
And that's it. The story is like a mystery to me, honestly, like a problem that has to be solved.

Anyway, the part in the hospital where Parker told Jaden that he will give up everything for her, including his badge and everything, Oh my! That was so sweet! So sincere! And speaking of sincerity,

On the other side, Parker lifts his hand and mouths:

“Hi.”

I mouth “Hi” back.

He holds up a single finger, signalling me to hold on. He picks up a spiral-bound notebook and flips open the cover, turning the first page to me. I recognize his neat, block print instantly: bold, black Sharpie.

I know this is unexpected . . . ,

I read. He flips the page.

. . . and strange . . .

I lift an eyebrow.

. . . but please hear read me out.

He flips to the next page.

I know I told you I never lied . . .

. . . but that was (obviously) the biggest lie of all. The truth is: I’m a liar.

I lied.

I lied to myself . . .

. . . and to you.

Parker watches as I read. Our eyes meet, and he flips the page.

But only because I had to.

I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with you, Jaden . . .

. . . but it happened anyway.

I clear my throat, and swallow hard, but it’s squeezed shut again, tight.

And it gets worse.

Not only am I a liar . . .

I’m selfish.

Selfish enough to want it all.

And I know if I don’t have you . . .

I hold my breath, waiting.

. . . I don’t have anything.

He turns another page, and I read:

I’m not Parker . . .

. . . and I’m not going to give up . . .

. . . until I can prove to you . . .

. . . that you are the only thing that matters.

He flips to the next page.

So keep sending me away . . .

. . . but I’ll just keep coming back to you. Again . . .

He flips to the next page.

. . . and again . . .

And the next:

. . . and again.

And if you can ever find it in your ♥ to forgive me . . .

There’s a big, black “heart” symbol where the word should be.

I will do everything it takes to make it up to you.

He closes the notebook and tosses it beside him. It lands on the roof with a dull thwack.

Then, lifting his index finger, he draws an X across his chest. Cross my heart.

I also love their midnight tete-a-tete at the attic. That was very romantic.

Honestly, the best thing about this book is, it's simple and pure and sweet and sincere and honest. The story is very light and heart warming. Having someone like Parker in your life, wow, just wow! I really like it!

I have had this book in my Kindle for the longest and never got around to reading it , until last night . This book ... this book ... This book !! Parker and Jaden . I will start off saying that surprise twist at the end was unexpected , just saying. Then I read the Parker's version in [b:Collateral Damage|17971349|Collateral Damage (Cross My Heart, #2)|Katie Klein|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1369275865s/17971349.jpg|25192071] and boy it makes this book even better. I love how he bring Jade out of her shell and I love how she opened up to him. Secret attic meeting and skipping school for a day at the Zoo. Sounds like my kind of relationship. The arguments were real and relatable. All I can say is read this and Collateral Damage and you will be in love with Parker and Jade.

I haven't made a review in ages, let's see if I still know how.

I think I must start this review by saying that I have a thing for bad boys. Leather jackets, motorcycles and all that.
Cliche, I know, but what can one do? I don't believe I'll ever see one for real, ( Leather Jackets in my weather? I don't think so)
so let me read about them, and dream for a while. I also really like stories where the characters start not liking each other, and we can see them slowly changing their minds and falling in love ( No wonders my favorite book is Pride and Prejudice). This book had the very best of both. The first time I read it, I loved it so, so much. And I decided to read it again a few days ago, to see if I had changed my mind, nope. Still love it.

The story is about Jaden, one of those girls that want to be perfect, the teachers' pet, the straight A student. She wants to go to Harvard really bad, not getting in is unthinkable. Her two older brothers didn't go to college, instead going to work with her dad, so everyone expects her to do better. She has a nice boyfriend, a group of friends. She is comfortable. .And then, she gets paired with Parker in a english project.
Parker is the loner of the school, and there are wild rumors about him circulating. It's in their interactions, that we see more of Jaden, what she is besides the girl trying to save the world. And we also get to know Parker, and that's when Jaden, me, and I'll bet most of those who read this book, fall in love with him. We fall for his wits, his smiles, his eyes, the way he can talk about books ( he got me there). There's no pointless angst in Parker, he's not mean, or overprotective, as many of others bad boys apparently need to be.

There's also a plot twist I didn't see coming and that explains a lot. The ending is really cute and sweet.

If you want a quick, lovely read, give this a shot. It'll surprise you.

I bought this book on my IPad as an impulse buy, it was $3.99 and I've been in a bit of a reading slump. I wanted a quick and easy contemporary and I got just that.
It wasn't the most mentally stimulating thing I've ever read by far, but it was fast paced and fun.
I really enjoyed all of the characters. I liked the relationship between Jaden and Parker. I thought that it was really cute. It didn't get annoying like a lot of contemporary novels tend to get. As well I enjoyed that their relationship wasn't insta love. They became friends first, and then it developed from there. It was realistic.

Lovely story.

What I liked the most in this story is reality of it. Jaden had dreams and not all of them became true and that is the point in life... You have to know how to live with unfulfilled dreams.

Average YA story. Good twist, though, but a bit unbelievable.
