I read this one for book club. I'm not a huge fan of short stories which accounts for my rating to a certain extent. I do think they were well written and the characters were interesting.
After discussing it with the book group, I have warmed to them more. Hadley seems interested in the stories of women who want to be something more but often struggle to do so. Their interior worlds and memories are simply but compellingly written and there's more emphasis on the after effects of events, than the events themselves.
I will read more by her.
