I loved this book and these characters so much. I laughed, I cried, and I rooted for them every step of the way. My life has been closely impacted by addiction and I think the author does a great job depicting very real interactions with family members with addictions - both the beautiful and hard to read ones. It was lovely to be seen through this book.

Have you ever put a book off for so long like months and months or even years and then you finally read it and then you’re so mad at yourself because you put it off for so long?…..that’s me with this book. The only regret I have about reading this is that it’s over and I can’t read it for the first time again. I don’t think a MM romance had me so drawn in probably ever there’s probably a couple out there that are closed, but this one is on a different level to me it was just so well done. I loved every character. I loved Jake and Felix obviously. They’re different personalities, but they’re both going through the same journey together. AND THE WAY JAKE IS WITH FELIX OH MY GOOD SWOON 🥹. I absolutely loved every second of their budding relationship and the tension GOOD LORD THE SEXUAL TENSION!!! Oh and the side characters!! Hector and Miguel, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard at side characters before. But the conversations those two had with Jake literally made me laugh so hard I snorted. But I will say this book made me cry a lot too because they are addicts so you see everything that they go through, You see how they deal with their temptation and how that whole world works. I personally have never had a problem with the addiction, but I still felt like I could relate to these characters and that’s what made this book so amazing to me. I could talk about this book until I’m blue in the face and there’s so many things I want to say, but I don’t want to say any of them because all I want you to do is go read this book. So go do that please.

FAVORITE QUOTES:

“The only reason I haven’t fucked you yet is because you’re my sponsor.”

“And if holding your hand like you’re my boyfriend wasn’t a hint; I’ll spell it out for you—I want you to be my boyfriend.”

“You better fucking kiss me, you dumbass bitch. You’re one of the only good things I have left!”
“Well? Pucker up, motherfucker.”

“You make me feel better than any drug I’ve ever taken.”

I really enjoyed TTOFAJ! It wasn’t as dark as I thought it was going to be since ‘tragedy’ is in the title but the tragedy is more about how they shouldn’t be together and their addictions

I liked how the book was written- there were parts where the MMCs were talking to the reader, which I don’t typically get in books and enjoyed. My emotions went on a ROLLER COASTER but it was worth it in the end

The couple things that aren’t making me give this a full 5 stars is 1)
CJ being a dick to Jake about Riley’s miscarriage but he redeems himself so I can’t really hate him
and 2)
I wish Jake got back at his ex more rather than sending her a text to F off and THEN screwing someone else while him and Felix were just connecting and getting to know each other

Sweet, funny, heavy, emotional roller coaster from start to finish. Could have been a tiny bit shorter as it started to get repetitive, but I didn’t mind some extra banter and character building. I miss them already!

If you feel like having your heart ripped out of your chest-read this book. If you feel like having your heart healed-read this book. If you need a good laugh-this book. (Some parts!) if you need a cry-this is the book.

All I have to say is, THANK YOU for writing this, and giving the world Jake and Felix. <3

I loved this book.  An emotional book dealing with dark themes and has spicy scenes addiction.  I think it wrote about addiction and a very gritty and realistic way and yet had great humor even if some was dark I found myself laughing out loud a lot in this book despite it being emotional and heavy. As someone who deals with tragedy and difficult situations with humor and dark humor I truly appreciate it this book and it will be my top books of the year
