It was good to catch up with the characters in the series, Lucy, Nadia, Autumn, and Chantel, their loves and trials. A light fluffy read, but it really does need to come with trigger warnings, death of a husband, gambling issues, and a drug drop, to name a few. In parts, it's funny, but I sometimes felt it was not taking the issues seriously, but I guess for a light-hearted read, the ridiculousness of the storyline was far fetching at best. So whilst I enjoyed it, the book also had flaws, which, if you can overlook, is a good read. I will finish the series at some point, but the next book has gone down my TBR list as there is only so much fluff I can cope with in one go.

I honestly cannot remember this book. I know it's about four women and their problem. Ive started it three times and it always falls away from me. Not going to try again.

I'm going to give it a 3.5. (Still don't know how to do a half star but I'll figure it out)

I gave it a 3.5 because I like everyone but the main character. I mean she grew on me in the end and this IS the second book out of 4 so I can't be that hard on the women.

I didn't find anything funny but I guess I'm not a right wing jack fruit who is so sheltered that a drug bust on a wedding day is considered "funny" but I'm a ridged old left hook so...

Oh did I tell u one of the characters husband's tries to kill himself? So sorry if I don't find the humor in someone's "accidental death" oh and by the way trigger warning

If you are an addict of any kind I suggest u steer clear of this book, but its kind of a guilty pleasure and I like watching the characters in my head grow up

Nobody likes chocolate that much. Its a good story but waaaaaaay overdone on the mentions of chocolate. It's their entire personality which got irritating the longer it went on.
Nevertheless, easy read!

Reading a Carole Matthews novel is like sitting down with an old friend and having a good old gossip and laughing for hours.

In The Chocolate Lovers' Diet, four female friends, each with relationship problems and a love of chocolate, regularly come together to discuss their lives at the local chocolate cafe. Only they seem very good at getting themselves involved in a little criminal activity along the way!

This book has a little of everything and is a very easy read. I shall now look for the rest of The Chocolate Lovers' Club books and devour them

I really enjoyed this book and the one before it. I loved the characters but it did make me eat more chocolate lol! I'm looking forward to the 3rd book coming out in the Autumn.

It wasn't that great. The characters were way more annoying than they were in the first book.

Well this book was a jumble of events. Some I predicted but still found a bit shocking to be in a Carole Matthews novel. This was definitely not your standard chick lit. I've knocked half a star off as Lucy pisses me off at times with choices she made and also because I feel like this book needs a trigger warning as it touches on suicide, gambling and drug addiction both leading to dramatic consequences. So a bit of a whirlwind but I couldn't put it down and read it within 3 days which is very quick for me having two young children. I'm wondering what else can the chocolate loves club get up to in the last two books!

Well the second instalment of the chocolate lovers club definitely didn’t disappoint. This book is an excellent read, with many twists along the way. The characters are all likeable and this is an easy read. Read in just one sitting, I cannot wait for the next instalment of this series, I have it reserved at the library so hopefully will be available soon.
This is a series I definitely recommend.
