There were some sweet moments in this book. It wasn’t hard to finish. I found several things to be pretty irritating when reading, though.
Spoilers ahead!
1) The fact that Eric was not even considered to be a romantic interest after he became disabled… he didnt need to end up with Ashley but why not at least explain why not? Being disabled does not disqualify him from being a romantic possibility. 2) the amount of casual sexual harassment from ALL characters, including the leading woman character, towards people in the workplace. Talk of “banging the new hot assistant” literally came up multiple times. Where was the editor?
I love The Simple Wild books but this one was just ok (and mildly infuriating at moments).
