I’ve heard a lot about Shannon and Will, so I jumped right to this book instead of reading the series in order. I’m sure I missed some references and the previous characters do appear a lot, but overall I didn’t have a hard time enjoying this one without reading the other books first.
Things start hot and heavy between Will and Shannon, but I liked that their relationship as a whole developed slowly. Yes, there are hiccups and it took a bit for these two idiots to get it right, but it’s clear from the get go that they have something special. I loved how all in Will was and that he knew just when to push and when to yield. He really was such a great partner for Shannon. I also appreciated that there wasn’t an unnecessary third act break up. The epilogue was very sweet and left my heart happy. I hope to go back and read the other books in the series now!

CW (from author): History of emotional and sexual abuse by a parent; parent loss; estranged family member; caring for a side character with chronic illness; reference to a main character injured during active duty military service; brief reference to a side character who experienced homelessness; brief reference to being forced out of the home as a teenager

I loved learning more about Shannon. However, does make me not want to read Sam’s story. He was an ass to his sister for no good reason. Other than that, I really enjoyed this addition to the Walsh entries.

Oh God, I cannot get enough of this family! I should be stopping to read a book for review, but I just HAVE to know what happens next in this utterly gripping, amazing family saga that I never want to end.
