I'm reading all these books for a book club, and I just really don't like Giffin's writing style or characters. Her books are all full of lying liars and cheating cheaters - though this one is less so than her first two - that it's indicated you're supposed to be sympathetic to based on the plot points and general story line. As such, we get a prescriptive "let me tell you how you will feel about this" from the author that leaves me going, "What? How on earth would I ever agree with that?".
For this book in particular, I couldn't get past the ridiculous timeline of events and the seeming nothingness that led to the reversal-of-fortunes ending for everyone. It all just seemed to magically happen - and everyone was okay with it. That would be fine for a fantasy novel, but this is 'chick lit' with nary a magical spell in sight.

I have really enjoyed all of this authors books so far, but this one was just ok for me. The main character was a pain because all she had to do was communicate instead of whine, but that would have probably cut the book in half. I still needed to see how it would all play out.
