After loving the first book of this series I am really let down with this one. I can see where the story is going, but wow does it feel like it’s taking forever to get there. I had guessed at most of the plot points so the last part of the book didn’t feel like much of a surprise.
While I liked the Danika storyline of the first book I got very annoyed that all things led back to Danika throughout this book. Why make her such an important character when she was killed off less than 100 pages in to the first book? It made me angry and felt very lazy for the plot to continually be “oh it all hinges upon a dead character we can’t talk to.” That really took me out of it at every reveal that lead back to Danika, of which there were MANY.
I also didn’t love the crossover at the end. I don’t know why, it just rubbed me the wrong way even if I saw it coming.

It's a bit slower than the first book, but the world of the book is still fantastic and keeps developing without the need for a notebook to keep track of the world building.  Characters continue to develop well.  The end is exciting!  I can't wait for the next book and also want to read ACoTaR after this.

I honestly had more moments during this book than the first of being annoyed with characters and their poor life choices. It seemed messy and I felt Maas wrote the plot twists in this book rather predictably.

That being said, I REALLY loved the world and lore expansion in this book. And I’m a huge fan of crossover series! This book left me satisfied with our FMC/MMC relationship, hopeful for new relationships, and SO excited to revisit old favorites.
