Nothing great, nothing terrible. It’s hard to get into a comic series with every issue being it’s own small story line, though I enjoyed the small nods to issues previous.

You can tell the girls were written by a man, but not in a weird way if that makes sense

This was so sweet! I was endeared to the characters right away. It’s so fun to read something set in college when that seems so rare. I’ll definitely be reading more volumes.

I'm surprised how much I loved it! It really encapsulates university experiences from all different angles. The main trio of women is a perfect combo and in each of them, I see a piece of myself. At the beginning I though it would mostly be a lighthearted read but there are more difficult and not so nice themes brought up further into the volume. Excited to pick up the next volume!

Three misfits thrown together by the proximity of their university halls become unlikely yet firm friends. They each have a distinct character but they are finding their place in the world and becoming more than their high school labels.

The story is funny and lighthearted but in true YA style it does touch on deeper ideas, opening the door for exploration. In this collection feminism, drug use and sexuality are highlighted.

The illustrations are vibrant, bright and full of humour. The exaggerated expressions and movements are great. I loved that the characters were 'in on the joke', chanting "flashback" at each other immediately before one appears.

Giant Days is fun but not frivolous, it's a quick read to enjoy again and again.
