I find being critical of an autobiography really rough, but I want to be truthful about my experience reading it. Honestly it felt like very similar to many other addiction and recovery stories I've read, and while I'm glad that Laura had the willpower to follow through with her addiction recovery I'm really not sure she needed to write a book. She's spoken at length about all kinds of different aspects of addiction recovery in many of her different videos and this felt like a rehash of what we've already been given in a different format. Admittedly I also wasn't a fan of the fact that it was trying to use humor while relaying her history of drug and alcohol abuse. I understand that funny is her 'brand' however it really took away from the seriousness of the situations she was explaining.
