I don't like the current cast as much as the first ones. Pioran and her unnamed lover are blatantly assholes, and I don't see any signs of them growing as people on the horizon. Fushi spends more time interacting with Gugu and Rean anyways, and they're nice enough, but they don't leave as much of an impression on me as Pomona and March did (although the new Fushi lore does mean that in a way, March will grow up physically).

It feels like now that we're hooked, Yoshitoki Oima is really slowing down the pace. Like last volume, we get a little more about what Fushi can do, but his volume hints about why Fushi is here, what's in the forest, and the hinted themes about "paradise" are too vague for me to come up with good theories. I still plan on sticking with it for the foreseeable future, but if you want something fast, this isn't for you.
