Honestly not sure how I’ll rate this one. I expected there to be more character development especially between our FMC and all the MMCs but there was so little of it! Why didn’t anyone teach her anything during her time in McMansion? Why did her guys not do things with her? Why did they not get to know one another so the “bonding” and “choosing” would feel less instalust and carry some weight behind it? Why didn’t they start getting to know each other when even they acknowledged they knew little of what each other was like? Vinna was definitely a bad ass and I liked her feistiness but also she somehow came across a little babyish? Actually, I found it hard to remember that these characters were in their early/mid-20s cos they acted like they were in high school and their non sexual interactions read surprisingly young! But this is definitely NA cos there are some sexual scenes so that was a bit jarring and awkward until I remember oh, this isn’t YA.

I found the role of the paladin a bit useless. I think in writing my thoughts down right now I realise my biggest problem with this is that nothing was discussed or taken forward and it honestly felt like filler but it was a first book… that said, I sped through this and I wanna know where this goes! I like Vinna’s magic and I’m curious to see what role the other casters will play in Vinna’s story and just how much angstier this can get lol
